About on-hold music
You can improve your callers' experience by playing music or messages if you have to place them on hold. You can play background music so callers are not left in silence, or use the opportunity to deliver informative or promotional messages.
Adding on-hold music to the announcements library
You can upload the files to the announcements library in One Net Feature Management Portal.

You can use any application that produces WAV or MP3 audio files. Your recordings must not be longer than two minutes.

Setting up on-hold music
You can set up on-hold music for your company. These settings apply by default to all users and company numbers.
Before uploading music, make sure you have the rights to play it to your customers.
To set up on-hold music
For administrators only
- Select Management > Announcements Library.
- Select .
- Enter a descriptive name for the on-hold music file.
- From Used on, select Music on Hold.
- From Status, select Active.
- Select Send audio file and then select the file you want to upload.
- Select Create.
Changing on-hold music
To change on-hold music, you need to upload a new audio file to the announcements library.
To edit on-hold music
For administrators only
- Select Management > Announcements Library.
- In the Music on Hold section, select

next to the on-hold music file you want to edit.
You can upload a new audio file or deactivate on-hold music.
Deleting on-hold music
You can delete an on-hold music audio file when it's no longer needed.
To delete on-hold music

next to the on-hold music file you want to delete.
