A hunt group is a way to manage calls coming to a phone number that is shared by a group of people. The distribution of the calls depends on the ringing pattern applied to teams in the hunt group.
You can't activate a hunt group for a company number that has auto-attendant or call queue features active. Deactivate these features for the company number before activating a call queue for it.
To add a hunt group
For administrators only
- Select Management > Company Features.
- In the Hunt Groups section, select View all.
- Select .
- In the Settings section, for Status, select On.
- Enter a name, an ID and select a company number for the hunt group.
Select a number that isn't assigned to another hunt group or an auto-attendant.
- In the Incoming calls identification section, from the Distinctive Ringing list, select a ringtone for the hunt group.
- In the Hunt teams section, add hunt teams that will answer calls and select a ringing pattern for each team.
- In the Final action section, select what will happen if the calls aren't answered by the hunt group.
- In the Summary section, review the settings you've selected and select .
To edit a hunt group
For administrators only
You can edit settings such as the hunt group's phone number, name or assigned hunt teams and their ringing patterns.
To edit a hunt group
- Select Management > Company Features.
- In the Hunt Groups section, select View all.
- Find the hunt group you want to edit and select
. - Select Edit.
To delete a hunt group
For administrators only
You can delete a hunt group when it is no longer needed. When a group is deleted, the phone number becomes available for reassignment.
To delete a hunt group
- Select Management > Company Features.
- In the Hunt Groups section, select View all.
- Find the hunt group you want to delete and select
. - Select Delete.
Setting a ringtone for a hunt group
You can set a distinctive ringtone for each hunt group so the members of the hunt group can identify which number is calling their desk phone.
Hunt group ID
Members of the hunt group can use the hunt group ID to:
- Retrieve hunt group voicemail with the phone shortcut #121#<hunt group ID>*
- Make calls on behalf of the hunt group using the phone shortcut #22#<hunt group ID><number>*
To change the hunt group ID
For administrators only
To change the hunt group ID
- Select Management > Company Features.
- In the Hunt Groups section, select View all.
- Find the hunt group for which you want to edit the hunt group ID and select
. - In Group ID, enter a three-digit hunt group ID.
- Select Save at the bottom of the page.
To set the hunt group ID as a prefix
As an administrator, you can enable using hunt group ID as a prefix.

- Select Management > Company Features.
- In the Hunt Groups section, select View all.
- Find the hunt group you want to edit and select
. - Select Edit.
- For Group calls identification, select Identification.
- Select Use group ID as caller prefix.
